Thank you very much for posting that, i love rare interviews. Thats a very interesting one (with Jesus and the Devil... ;D) and he looks baaaam in that photo :D
Yeah, I think "he looks baaaam" sums it up AMAZINGLY well. :DDD
Its unbelievable isn`t it? He was in his mid/late-30s there and looks like he is 25 or something...must be magic or he has a pact with the devil...but jesus was his favourite but i am not sure if he is the one who sells endless youth ;)
Oooooh, thanks for posting this! I'd read parts of the RS interview before but never the whole thing (!) nor the "baaaaam" photo.
Great interview, although, I think Tom Waits might disagree with him when it comes to Bukowski.
I think *I* might disagree. :D I love Bukowski.
I do as well, my Bukowski collection is massive.
I have only read...god, what was it. Some random poems, which are TOTALLY my style (both my likes and kind of the non-rhyming, rambling stuff I write), and I read...oh, the post office book. I need to read more. Any recommendations? :D
I'm going to warn you, I might start waxing poetic. When it comes to his novels I'd recommend "Factotum" and "Ham On Rye". There's also a great collection of short stories called "Tales of Ordinary Madness", "A .45 to Pay the Rent" is worth the price alone. I have a special place in my heart for this one. It was my first introduction to Bukowski. As I read it my hands were shaking; I had the oddest emotion; a cross between the feeling I aways get when I'm reading something brilliant, and the way I felt when I first read "Hustler". (Yeah, I told you I might wax poetic)As for poetry "The Days Run Away Like Wild Horses Over the Hills" and "Love is A Dog From Hell" are good places to start. My favorite poem is from "The Last Night On Earth":http://plagiarist.com/poetry/137/Yeah, I'm probably rambling far too much.
No such think as rambling too much when you're talking to me. You should see (well, technically you can, as it's up there publically-why am I linking to this? Cuz I rambled about the badass concert while still being like omg NC! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2wJe9_POGY) my freaking review of the Miyavi (japanese rock musician) show I just saw on Saturday. I rambled...and kept mentioning NC for some reason...like four times...when I was trying to sum up Miyavi. WTF. I make no sense. But yes, when I am more cohesive AND coherent (cuz right now I feel like my head's falling apart due to the blood sugar thing), I will totally check all that Bukowski stuff out. :D
Re: the last comment I made...note the "I am such a stupid fangirl" eyeroll I made at the touching NC bit.
